Romania - Mamaia, Summer Resort

Mamaia is a summer resort, the biggest resort on the Romanian Black Sea shore. It is situated north-east of Constanca, Romania. Mamaia has almost no full time residents, being populated mostly during summer.

Mamaia is 8 km (5 miles) in length and only 300 m (300 yards) in width, being a strip of land between the Black Sea and the lake Siutghiol. Leisure activities have developed considerably in past years. Mamaia is now the best destination for watersports in Romania, sports which can be practiced both on the sea but also on the Siutghiol lake.

Amenities are very good, most of them being brand new or modernized recently. Natural conditions are also excellent: wide and sandy beaches, pleasant breeze, and warm seawaters. The beach season is at its best between mid-May and late September, when average daytime temperatures are 25 to 30 Celsius (78 to 86 Fahrenheit). The water is warm until late in the autumn. Hotels range from mid-end (2 and 3 stars) to exclusivist 4 and 5 stars hotels and private clubs. The 11th reunion of the Central European heads-of-state took place in Mamaia on May 27th 2004.

Washington is a state in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The state capital is Olympia and the largest city in Washington is Seattle. As of the 2000 census, the state population was approximately 5.9 million and the state work force numbered about 3.1 million. Residents are called "Washingtonians" (emphasis on the third syllable, which rhymes with bone).It should not be confused with Washington, D.C., the nation's capital. To avoid confusion, the capital is often called simply D.C., and the state often called Washington State.Washington is the only state named after a president, which was George Washington.The battleship USS Washington was named originally for President Washington, but was later renamed in honor of the state.
